W10....We were there...were you..??

Prior to the exhibition there seemed to be a lot of negativity regarding the current state of the economy with many would be exhibitors either not attending or perhaps taking smaller floorspace with some opting simply for an enquiry booth which we felt would not be very interesting for the people in attendance. However, we decided that despite the current economic downturn and the fact that the exhibition is only every 2 years, that we would exhibit properly based on our long term view and to give the opportunity to potential purchasers to assess the machinery for themselves whether it be for an immediate or a future requirement.

In the weeks prior to the exhibition there was plenty of work in the planning of the floorspace, stand fittings, organising the electric, carpets, logistics of transportation for the machines and staff accommodation and of course the decision on what machines should be displayed.

On Sunday 3rd October, the doors to W10 were opened and the exhibition officially began. Almost immediately it became very apparent that the decision to attend was the correct one as from that moment on, we were kept permanently busy greeting existing customers and potential new ones. The machines on display included an E55 briquetting machine which was almost permanently working and on demonstration. A number of visitors took samples of the briquette away with them and the general comments were of how impressed they were with the formation of the briquette in relation to that from other machines.

Also on display were examples of the ever popular panel saw range in the shape of the Genisis X3 Plus with over head touch screen control giving motorised movements to the adjustment of the blade raise, lower and tilt, the 2 axis movement of the scorer for ease of setting and to the 1500mm rip fence. Also on display was the Genisis XC which having a 1900mm sliding table and 1000mm rip fence offers excellent cutting capabilities for those with restricted floorspace.

For those looking for the absolute best in quality and accuracy when it comes to classical machinery Hofmann hold no bounds in attantion to detail in the construction of their machines. A typical example from Hofmann was on display in the shape of the TFS 1245 tilting spindle moulder which is of all cast iron construction and had a 2050mm cast iron table with lateral telescopic support. The machine was also equipped with the ultra heavy duty fence assembly wit LCD display, overhead control panel with LED display to the height and the tilting of the spindle. The spindle adjustments of course are motorised for the raise and lower and through the tilting range of +/- 45 degrees.

Actual orders taken at the exhibition included 2 Genisis XC panel saws, a Genisis SP530 thicknesser to customers who saw us at W8 and one of the fine dust units which was seen working on the stand. Along with these orders the general mood by visitors seemed positive and upbeat with many more serious enquiries received at the show with further orders pending.

We would like to thank all those that visited us at W10 and of course if we may be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us, otherwise, see you all at W12..!!
