Kundig at W14....

Quality is about a product, the way it is constructed, the components it uses, it's not necessarily about the so called brand but about the experience of a product when used and the finish it gives. A quality product lasts longer and the only negative about buying a quality product....is that initially it costs a little bit more but in the long term costs alot less....

This of course is how we could describe the range of wide belt and edge sanding machines manufactured by Kundig of Switzerland who are one of the very few companies that still manufacture their own machines. Kundig is the family name used from when Armin Kundig set up his own business in 1945 with the company being run today by Hansruedi and Stephan Kundig still carries the same ethos 'to develop edge and widebelt sanding machines of an absolute top class'. This is a goal which has been achieved with Kundig being widely recognised as one of the world's most respected manufacturers of wide belt sanding machinery acknowledged upon winning the coveted 'Challengers Award' with the pioneering developement and introduction of the oblique sanding technique.

As long standing supporters of the UK exhibitions, Kundig were once again in attendance with examples of all 3 models edge sanders, the Basiq, the Uniq and Uniq-S machines along with examples of both the Premium and Brilliant machines. As always the machines were seen working to demonstrate the ease of operation between solid wood, veneer and lacquer sanding. The Brilliant machine showed the oblique sanding technique and how just simply pivoting the abrasive from a traditional full frontal attack to an oblique position totally eliminates the transfer of deformities of the abrasive to give the best possible surface finish.

As always, the Kundig stand was host to many existing customers and potential new customers alike who chatted freely and shared what is the Kundig experience.
